Eldinhope is set high up in the Yarrow valley, it is beautiful location has stunning views and it is very remote.
It was the home of Walter & Janet Dalgleish and their family. One of their daughters (Catherine) gave birth to a son (William Murray) here in 1848.
The original buildings were replaced by this cottage ~ late 19thC.

- At the time of occupation Eldinhope appears to only apply to the cottage(s) - whereas today Eldinhope/Eldinhope Farm is the name given to the large farm and house across the road and the new cottage is known as Eldinhope Cottage.
- Based on the 18xx[TBC] census and birth of William Murray in 1848. Occupation could include several years either side of this date.
- The existing buildings were erected after this period of occupation.
