Sarah Lancashire
Sarah Lancashire was the second wife of James Murray. They had four children in their short marriage which lasted only ten years owing to James’ early death at the age of 44 in 1900.
She was born and grew up in Rhodes, Middleton. The family had a farm called Mere Hays but had left it by 1861, three years after her birth (she may or may not have been born on the farm). She was the youngest of nine children.
Once married she moved home several times as James moved locations with the police
force -
After James premature death she returned to Rhodes and had to raise a family of five.
She died in 1923 in Rhodes.

Limited knowledge gained from basic records and gave inscriptions. The only documents
surviving are her probate papers -
