This page provides the latest updates and information about changes to the website.

This release is the second of the version 5 series and it takes v5.0 forward from a content-less experimental structure to a basic framework with some operating content.

The main changes from v5.0 are as follows:

1. Modified the colour scheme [returning to v4 colours]
2. Completed the introduction pages for each section.
3. Provided panel menus for content access for the main sections.
4. Generated 3-5 content items [records, photos, maps etc] in each section to test the overall structure and operations.

The base pages for each section are now generated by software and this has helped significantly in both speeding up the creation process while maintaing a consistent presentation. Unfortunaetly - we have not had as much fortune in trapping spelling mistakes.

Having established an operating structure in v5.0-5.1 the next steps are seen as:

1. Review v5.1 after 4-6 months of use & feedback
2. Add limited additional functionality [maps-clusters by individual & supplementary information eg place of work.
3. Populate the existing sections people, partners, family homes and events with more content*

* Additional content: with 2-3000 people in the Family Historian Database it is not possible to present them all - although Family Historian does provide tools to do that. The selection will continue to be made using the following criteria as a guide:

1. People & partners in the main family timeline
2. Those with a good story to tell
3. Those with sufficient material ie photos & related material

The next version will be released in early 2023.
