Morecambe Bay from Knowlys Drive, Heysham

This website, like the earlier versions, is aimed at sharing family history information across a now geographically dispersed family. This includes selected the family groups, summaries of individuals, partnerships as well as places where they lived, worked and took time out,

Originally it was thought that it would be only of interest to members of the family - but we have had feedback from third parties eg people now living in former family homes.

The site aims can be found here - the remainder of this page provides an introduction to the main sections of the site.

The Sections

An outline of the sections:

Family Names

The will record FAMILY NAMES structured in groups. The usual family tree is too unwieldly for a web page, it will be broken into segments that link together. In most cases male family names usually get taken forward as family names - but we will aim to reflect both partners equally.

The The INDIVIDUAL page will be dedicated to a single person. With over 2,500 people in the Family Historian database this will have to be selective. The page will be a short personal timeline of the main life events for that individual (that we know of) including homes, occupations etc.

The PARTNER page will record life events for selected partners. The partnership timeline will included children, homes, occupations etc. where the information is available.

The LOCATION pages recovers family places from the records. This will mainly be family homes but may include places of work, ceremony [eg wedding] and in selected holiday locations - especially where more than one paetnership is involved.

The EVENTS pages will record a selection of family events. The listing may include recent events such as anniversaries, weddings, holidays etc.

Test Pages

The TestZone will be used to experiment with information options and displays prior to adoption on the main pages..

Please note that the WALKS section has now moved permanently to separate site: "Eldinhope"
